• Prayerful Hearts Ministry is pleased to announce that Contemporary Catholic/Christian performing artist-SHARMANE-was recently recognized as an award recipient at the 2008 KCCM Awards held in Kansas City on Saturday, April 26th. SHARMANE received the award for FEMALE VOCALIST of the Year. This is the first-time award for SHARMANE-who also was invited to perform her 2007 radio single titled I SURRENDER, (which spent over 20 weeks on the Christian Radio & Retail Weekly I-chart), at the multi-faith awards presentation. I SURRENDER was also recognized as a final nominee for the Song of the Year category.
  
  The KCCM Awards are sponsored annually by KingCat Music based in the Kansas City area. This organization serves to recognize artists who are part of the KingCat Music network in a variety of award categories including Artist of the Year (in each music genre), Group of the Year and Song of the Year. KingCat Music includes local, regional and national independent artists that perform in the Christian music genre. The awards are held each spring at a Kansas City area venue. • It’s official! SHARMANE has kicked off her new middle school and high school assembly programs! SHARMANE is excited about introducing these new programs to the youth market. The Middle School Program is titled “Stuck in the Middle”. The High School Program is actually an extension of her new High School Youth Workshop titled, “Find Me! Cleanse Me! Take Me There!” Each program is a journey of spiritual self-discovery that combines the Catechism of the Catholic Church with illustrative examples of application in everyday life. These presentations will help the students get to the heart of “who they are” and “how to become” the “whole” person that God intended them to be. • It was recently announced that I SURRENDER (the 2007 radio single by SHARMANE) made it to second round voting for SONG OF THE YEAR for the 2008 KCCM Awards. With dozens of songs submitted for November, a panel of judges narrowed the list down to just 5 entries before opening the vote to the general public. The winning song for each month advances to the final round where the selections are judged by industry professionals. Keeping our fingers crossed!

"I SURRENDER" was inspired by a friend of SHARMANE'S whose child suffered from a life-threatening illness. The song was released to over 1500 radio stations and the response has been overwhelming. SHARMANE is so grateful that the song is reaching those who are hurting physically, emotionally and spiritually and prays that it will especially provide comfort to parents who deal with the struggle and challenge of a sick child. The second will be filled with spiritual renewal as she answers the questions of "How can we be His instrument in this world." The final evening, Sharmane will perform a concert for all families.
